"Thank you very much for your software! I was experiencing quite a few glitches and my system was freezing so I thought I should check to see if everything was working as it should. I purchased Regservo and ran it. It told me I that I had 212 entries and then it automatically removed them. Thanks to your software, I now have a perfectly running system! Thanks again!"

The Blue Screen Of Death!

December 5th, 2008 Geek Posted in Blue Screen Of Death 8,924 Comments »

The Blue Screen of Death, also known as the BSoD, has happened to almost every PC user out there. The error message appears when there is a serious critical error on the computer, causing everything to stop immediately and display a blue screen with white lettering on it. Normally, almost always, the error message that appears on this screen makes no sense whatsoever to a normal computer user other than the computer just crashed and a reboot is needed. This is where the ‘of Death’ part comes in because the only way to get a BSoD off the screen is to reboot the computer basically killing what you were doing.

The error code that appears is designed to show the root cause of the error that brought about the blue screen in the first place. As stated, to the average computer user, the code that appears may look like a bunch of random numbers and letters and make no sense whatsoever. To a trained professional it tells them where the problem originated and gives them a good idea where to look to resolve the issue. That is, when the code is actually correct and not a problem in and of itself. Many BSoD error messages do nothing more but cause confusion and don’t have anything to do with the problem, if there really was one in the first place. Sound confusing?

Confusing and BSoD go hand in hand and that is why it is so important to make sure your computer is running as well as it can be by doing a little prevention before the problem arises. In the computer is an area that can help prevent or cause a number of BSoD errors on your computer. That area of the computer is called the registry and a mistake in there can cause Blue Screens of Death to happen constantly. Regular cleaning, organizing and optimizing of the Windows registry are a great way to prevent them from happening.

One such program that does just that is called RegCure. This program will go through the registry and look for entries that are misplaced, mislabeled, wrong, out of date or just not needed anymore and fix or remove them. It can also optimize the layout of the registry for faster booting and program loading times. Having a registry that is organized, clean and problem free can go a long way to getting rid of those dreaded Blue Screens of Death once and for all.
